Power is only half the story. A tuned 992.1 needs a transmission that can deliver it. On the PDK2, both clutch packs need more capacity once the engine is tuned, and the weaker even-gear pack slips first. The APR Stage 1 PDK2 TCU Tune raises transmission torque limits and clutch current so the TCU can command the clamping pressure the added torque requires, scheduled by torque, shift state, and temperature and kept within factory hydraulic limits. On the 911 Turbo S, PDK2 gives the clutches the capacity for the APR Stage 1 ECU High Torque file on 93 and 100 octane: up to 742 WHP and 652 WTQ on 100 octane, and a best 0-60 mph of 2.39 seconds on a street surface at 4,100 ft density altitude. On the Carrera, Carrera T, Carrera S, and Carrera GTS, factory clutch torque limits vary widely between box codes; PDK2 standardizes them so every supported car gets the same headroom. A rear-wheel-drive Carrera GTS ran a best 0-60 mph of 2.74 seconds on E85 with factory tires. Shift strategy is calibrated too: revised Sport and Sport Plus upshifts, quicker shifts under high lateral and longitudinal load, optimized launch control, a Launch Control Active display in Sport mode, and a 6,000 rpm free rev in Park with matching APR ECU software. Creep, Neutral by Paddles, and Clutch Kick are selectable at flashing. Factory driving modes, diagnostics, and temperature protection stay active. The PDK2 unit is unlocked once by APR, free and typically the same day it arrives, by mail or through an APR dealer. After that, PDK2 and future updates flash through the OBD-II port at home with APR Ultralink or at an APR dealer. Run it with the APR Stage 1 ECU for best results.

Features:

  • Raises transmission torque limits and clutch current so the TCU can command the clamping pressure that APR ECU torque requires
  • Prevents clutch slip, which shows up first in the weaker even-gear clutch pack
  • Clamping pressure scheduled by torque, shift state, and temperature, and kept within factory hydraulic limits to protect the seals
  • Full calibrated capacity up to 140°C clutch temperature, with torque derating from 145°C to protect the clutches
  • Carrera, Carrera T, Carrera S, Carrera GTS: standardizes clutch torque capacity across supported PDK2 box codes, which vary widely from the factory
  • 911 Turbo S: gives the clutches the capacity for the APR Stage 1 ECU High Torque file on 93 and 100 octane, up to 742 WHP and 652 WTQ on 100 octane
  • Revised Sport and Sport Plus upshift strategy, with revised minimum shift type during kickdown and launch
  • Quicker, cleaner shifts under high lateral and longitudinal load on track
  • Carrera: wide-open-throttle shift points optimized
  • Launch control: Turbo S gets APR or factory strategies selectable per mode; Carrera gets an optimized Sport mode launch for cars with 21-inch rear tires only
  • "Launch Control Active" display enabled in Sport mode
  • Free rev in Park raised to 6,000 rpm with matching APR ECU software
  • Selectable at flashing: creep, Neutral by Paddles, or Clutch Kick (Clutch Kick and Neutral by Paddles cannot be combined)
  • Best 0-60 mph of 2.39 seconds in a 992.1 Turbo S on 100 octane (street, 4,100 ft density altitude) and 2.74 seconds in a RWD 992.1 Carrera GTS on E85 (street, factory tires)
  • Compatible with every released APR ECU tune for the 992 Carrera, including Stage 3
  • One-time mail-in bench unlock by APR (free, typically same-day); then flashes at home with APR Ultralink or at an APR dealer
  • Free lifetime updates and a 30-day money-back guarantee

This part is legal under the provisions of EPA’s Tampering Policy dated November 23rd, 2020. The company has reasonable basis (test results) to verify that this product allows the vehicle to operate within legal emissions standards and is therefore legal to be sold for on-street use in all states that accept the legal provisions of the Clean Air Act and the EPA Tampering Policy. This product is NOT LEGAL FOR SALE OR USE IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. Testing with the California Air Resources Board, in order to achieve 50-state compliance, is pending with CARB. Once testing is complete with California, and an E.O. number is issued, this product will be updated to 50-state legal status.
Each vehicle's year, make, and model may have multiple factory transmission controller software part numbers, known as box codes, each with unique revisions. Manufacturers periodically release software updates that alter this information, which can only be determined by scanning the controller and is not publicly available. Due to the variety of codes, some features may not be available for specific box codes. Our website provides a general guide based on general info such as year, make, and model. Our system allows you to request unavailable software, and we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee if you're not satisfied. Carrera: the optimized Sport mode launch is calibrated for cars with 21-inch rear tires only; state the model and rear tire size when sending the TCU for the unlock. Carrera coverage follows the box codes in the current release, and additional box codes are added as customer requests come in. Turbo S: some late-2025 911 Turbo S vehicles use a new encrypted PDK2 processor that is not currently flashable; the processor type may not be known until the unit is received. Not for the 911 Turbo (non-S) or 992.2 models. Customers removing and reinstalling the TCU themselves must be able to read and clear fault codes.
