Following the recent released of our new DTR6054 Direct Turbocharger Replacement for the MK7 Golf R, GTI, and similar platform vehicles, we’re pleased to announce a new lineup designed for the previous FSI and TSI platform engines found in the 2006+ GTI, Golf R, and many more vehicles!
Make no mistake, global supply chain shortages have rocked the tuning landscape, making common materials, such as nickel and aluminum scarce. This hasn’t stopped APR from continuing to make the best products available. Our new K-Oak 4 turbocharger system takes a new, yet old-world approach to tuning by sourcing many materials often left for the dash trim on a high end Bentley. Our new turbocharger does away with hard to find resources and uses fine woods to enhance the driving experience!
The APR K-Oak 4 turbocharger uses an innovated CNC-machined compressor wheel made entirely from sustainably sourced oak. This strong but light weight material makes for quick turbo spool and power that carries all the way to redline. To combat excessive heat and brutal conditions, we’ve comprised the turbine wheel from a pressure treated hickory material. The CHRA is constructed from cherry cedar and gives a pleasant smell during operation. Dual German ceramic ball bearing further aid in transient response on and off the throttle between sniffs.
Our rich walnut turbine housing can be purchased both with and without a lacquer finish, allowing buyers to customize the design and finish to their desire. We chose a beautiful olive wood compressor cover which is visible from the engine bay and sure to be a crowd favorite at next year’s APR and Dinan Haus Party.
PLEASE NOTE: To combat burring, APR suggests direct exhaust manifold water injection. Failure to do so will void the industry-first 5 minute / 5 mile (whichever comes first) warranty.
