Looking to build on a stunning 2009 ST effort which included 4 wins and 5 poles, APR Motorsport is ready to lead the field at Daytona for round one of the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. APR will once again be running two Volkswagen GTIs in the Street Tuner class.
The 171 VW GTI will see 3 time race winner Mike Sweeney return to APR alongside the experienced Mike Halpin. In the 181 car, 2009 Mesco Rookie of the Year Josh Hurley will be paired with veteran racer Kevin Stadtlander. With two drivers returning from last year’s team, paired with two experienced drivers, APR will be sure to pick up right where they left off in 2009. Look for both cars to be fighting for the championship in 2010!
In addition to the Street Tuner title run, APR Motorsport will be expanding into the Grand Sport class with the Audi S4. This unique entry will be one of the first GS cars to participate with a forced inducted engine and all wheel drive. Look for this exciting entry to make its debut alongside the two Volkswagens in Daytona.
