We're excited to announce our Engine Control Unit (ECU) Upgrades are now available for the Porsche 718 Cayman/Boxster (982) GTS 4.0L engine with the Bosch MG1 ECU! Expect exceptional gains from this naturally aspirated engine with up to 452-488 HP with 340-361 FT-LBS of torque on tap, depending on octane! Our new suite of software comes after months of extensive research and development that is typically absent from the aftermarket. Our upgrade makes the engine more powerful and more exciting. We've extensively calibrated the system to work flawlessly on the track, while retaining safety routines to protect your engine in the most demanding scenarios. This was all made possible by our engineering team's pursuit of perfection. Development vehicles were outfitted with additional sensors, including thermocouples, transducers, and more, along with our high speed direct RAM logging equipment, to feed valuable data to the team for analysis. After exhausting of hours of testing and tuning we created new calibrations that are fine tuned for several octanes and contain hundreds of map changes, with a vast array of safety features built in.

Only use fuel equal to or higher than specified. Never use a lower octane fuel. Always follow our fuel guide, especially with race fuel and Ethanol, where available. Dynos are for reference only. Results will vary. Contributing factors include the vehicle condition, vehicle setup, dyno type, dyno setup, environmental factors, fuel quality, and more. When describing fuels, the North American Region (NAR) uses the Anti-Knock Index (AKI), (RON+MON)/2, or (R+M)/2. The Rest of the World (ROW) uses RON. RON is Research Octane Number and MON is Motor Octane Number. Please Note: Being as this is a naturally aspirated engine, it's extremely sensitive to air density and temperature. This is most notable on a dyno where typical side cooling and airflow is not common and not representative of real world conditions. The vehicle will struggle to make power on the dyno without proper cooling, especially in less than ideal conditions. Porsche Motorsport suggests a 30C delta in ambient temperature corresponds to a loss of 35 HP, and each 5 HP will result in roughly .2 seconds a lap.

    Driving Modes, Features, and Safety

    Driving Modes

We’ve optimized fueling, ignition, cams, throttle angle, and more to achieve greater power and torque in all diving modes.

    Features

The sport exhaust button now fully opens or closes the exhaust valves at the push of a button, without additional hardware or controllers. When closed, the flaps will open at wide open throttle when you’re above 4,500 RPM. We’ve raised the rev limiter to 8,300 RPM and increased the standing limiter in park and neutral to 6,500 RPM. Optionally we’ve enabled exhaust crackle found in other models while in park and neutral. We’ve corrected the factory HP and TQ values so the correct values are sent to the dash, though the dash will still cap the max amount without being reprogrammed. Lastly, we’ve removed the throttle body limiter for maximum power delivery.

    Safety

With many customers tracking their Porsche, safety is paramount in our calibration strategy. Through the use of extreme datalogging equipment and additional sensors, thermocouples, and transducers, our engineers were able to fully optimize the ECU for advanced safety routines. This includes implementing several routines not enabled from the factory. The entire thermal management system is optimized to reduce engine bay temperature, and reduce intake air temperature, while also implementing advanced protection routines to prevent oil temperature from achieving unsafe levels. We’ve enabled new temperature protection routines to prevent the engine and cooling systems from overheating prematurely, which will be noticeable on the track. We’ve optimized the injection strategy to deliver a fatter torque curve and reduce the chances of knock, and torque dips. This is also achieved alongside per cylinder ignition advance and fuel trimming. Serious track enthusiasts should consider running race fuel, and adding additional coolant for maximum performance.

Who we are - We’re a global automotive engineering firm nestled in Opelika, Alabama. Our 80,000ft² state-of-the-art facility is home to some of the best engineers in the industry, who have mastered hundreds of engine management systems. We have multiple engine and chassis dynos, and the resources necessary to create our ECU Upgrades in-house, from the ground up! We're not a new company either. We've been around since the 90's and we have a strong financial backing to ensure we'll be here to support you for decades to come!

What we do - We optimize everything to make your engine more powerful. We adjust air-fuel ratios, advance ignition, increase boost pressure, alter cam positions and lift profiles, and more, all depending on the type of engine and management system, of course! We don’t take shortcuts, and we don’t take risks. We do it the right way.

How we differ - With our proprietary calibration and direct ram access data logging tools and operating system code changes, we’re able to make some of the strongest and fastest ECU upgrades, without needing costly end user adjustments. We work with the ECUs intelligent modeling and closed-loop systems, and beta test in multiple environments to create upgrades that work no matter where you drive!
