| 09/10/2015APR S4 World Record: 11.1 with a +4,200 Density Altitude!
The race for a 10 second S4 3.0 TFSI just got a little more promising as APR sets an 11.1 @ 121.58 MPH in the quarter mile in extremely unfavorable conditions!
On July 30th, APR's S4 equipped with the upcoming Magnuson TVS1740 Supercharger System headed to Montgomery Motorsport Park in Alabama for a full day of endurance testing at the track with temperatures in the 100F's. Records were first set using Magnuson's off the shelf TVS1740 Supercharger System with APR's included 100-octane software, resulting in an 11.3@120 MPH on Michelin PSS tires.
As the day progressed, the conditioned worsened with temperatures reaching above 105F and the density altitude peaking above 4,200 feet. However, despite the terrible conditions, a new world record was achieved. APR's R&D team swapped the supplied pulley on the Magnuson TVS1740 to a new APR prototype upgrade, scheduled for release in the near future, and achieved an 11.1 @ 121.58 MPH pass!
"Given the extremely poor conditions (4200ft DA) our 11.1 second pass will hopefully lead to a 10 second pass as conditions improve here in Alabama. S Tronic calibration improvements, additional hardware changes (removing the catalysts), and further refinement of the overall package will only push the platform to a place we've all wanted it to go." Said Eric Urness, lead calibrator at APR.

| 01/25/2016On Sunday, January 24th, we headed to Montgomery Motorsport Park to test our new APR Stage III EFR6758 Turbocharger System in the quarter mile. The car was driven to the track in its currently daily driven form, on street tires, with 93 octane fuel and a full interior, in an effort to show real world results most customers will experience on a day-to-day basis. Several passes were conducted, resulting in record breaking pass after record breaking pass. Ultimately, Trevor@APR, the owner of the vehicle, was able to achieve a 12.124@115.13 MPH after cutting a 1.733 60 FT time!
The fueling system was unmodified, resulting in power limitations below the capabilities of the turbocharger system. Temperature at the track during the record pass was roughly 50F, resulting in a density altitude of roughly -575 feet. Unfortunately, the negative density attitude did not result in a sizable performance benefit compared to running in warmer conditions due the fueling system limitations. However, beneficial to APR customers in warmer climates, the above results are still applicable.
As temperature drops and air density increases, so does the need for more fuel to satisfied the air fuel ratios prescribed by APR's calibration experts. To safely prevent the engine from running out of fuel in cooler conditions, APR's calibration experts have calibrated the ECU to reduce boost pressure while targeting the same power levels. Conversely, during hotter conditions, the ECU increase boost pressure
