What:

The 53rd season of competition at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca officially kicks off May 15-17, with Verizon Festival of Speed presented by SPEEDCOM featuring the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series along with the Koni Sports Car Challenge, Mazda MX-5 Cup and the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge as support events. The race will mark the fifth consecutive year for Grand-Am’s Daytona Prototype and GT cars in Monterey.

The Daytona Prototype cars have attracted the attention of superstar drivers and universally-recognized motor racing teams through its extremely raceable and relatively affordable format. It has revolutionized sports car racing with Plentiful battles at the front of the field and close finishes in virtually every race.

Like the Daytona Prototype class, the Rolex Series GT class has done the same for high-performance, production-based sports car racing.

The KONI Challenge Series for straight-from-the-showroom American muscle cars and the hottest imports will join the Rolex Sports Car Series for the first time at the track in its ninth season of competition under the Grand-Am banner.

Rolex Car Series, Sun., May 17, 1:00-3:45 p.m.
The series is headlined by the Daytona Prototypes and GT cars in a 250-mile race on Sunday, May 17th.
